Parents Resource Centres (PRCs) serve to provide diversified and comprehensive services to families of people with developmental disorders, and ease parents’ pressure of taking care of their children. It is hoped that through mutual support and encouragement among parents, individual parent’s talents could be further developed.
To address the needs of service users who have stepped into adulthood, the Society established the territory’s first Jockey Club STAR Resource Centre in 2015 to cater for the needs of autistic individuals at different life stages, which signified a new milestone in the service development of the Society.
Scope of Service
PRCs offer a comprehensive range of supportive services:
Hotline service
To provide updated information on rehabilitation services in Hong Kong for disabled persons and their families
Resource library
To maintain reference materials and service information for parents' reference
Toy library
To provide a wide variety of educational toys and audio-visual materials for parents to borrow
Educational talks and training workshops
To enhance parents’ knowledge and skills in handling their children
Parents support groups
To provide opportunities for parents to exchange information and share experiences
Social and recreational functions
To provide leisure recreational functions for family members to enhance their interaction and cohesion
Interest classes
To provide a diversified range of interest classes for parents and children to facilitate their development of interests and potentials
Training activities for children
To enhance the interpersonal, communication and self-care skills of children
Community education activities
To enhance public understanding of the situation and potential of disabled people

Membership Fee

(Entitled to printed newsletters and member services) $50 for 1-year membership; |

Withdrawal of Membership
Non-renewal of membership upon its expiration will result in cancellation of the membership. Membership may also be terminated on request. Please contact Centre-in-Charge of PRCs for details.
