Head of Communications

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Communications Team and report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, while receiving guidance from the Fundraising and Communications Committee;
  • Devise and execute comprehensive communication and branding strategies that utilize technology and innovative approaches to reinforce the organization's brand identity and expand its audience reach;
  • Supervise and coordinate the organization's professional publications, develop effective promotion strategies, and refine operational workflows to enhance sales of our professional publications;
  • Manage the planning, development, and delivery of high-quality print and digital communications and marketing materials, including the annual report, newsletter, intranet, website, social media, program posters, and leaflets;
  • Monitor social media for any negative news about the organization, promptly inform the Chief Executive Officer, and draft timely, suitable responses to protect the organization's reputation;
  • Formulate and execute media strategies and build strong relationships with media and key influencers to maximize positive exposure and public awareness.
Qualifications
  • Degree holder in Marketing, Communication or related discipline;
  • At least 10 years' marketing and/or communication experience with 5 years gained within management capacity;
  • Proven track record in managing comprehensive strategic corporate communications, media relations, and marketing program, with ability to engage stakeholders within or outside the organization;
  • Solid experience in editing of corporate marketing materials e.g. newsletters, press releases, social media contents, annual reports, and promotion and sales of publications;
  • Strategic and forward thinking to develop and implement strategies to maximize department performance in meeting organization's vision, mission and goals;
  • Strong team leadership with the ability to develop, coach and inspire team members to achieve success;
  • Creative, energetic, resourceful, and a flexible team player with excellent communication, presentation, problem solving, negotiation and analytical skills;
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • Exposure in the NGO sector is an advantage.
